Owls soar into Conference play this weekend
The calendar has flipped over and conference play is set to begin this weekend for the MCCAA and the Owls.
The Owls welcome Jackson College to campus on Saturday to kick off conference play and begin the quest for the postseason. The men have posted an impressive 11-3 record thus far, earning them the honor of being the 25th ranked team in the country, and are showing why on the stat sheet. The men are averaging 90.9 points per game, shooting 48.2% from the field, and averaging 41.8 rebounds per game.
Leading the way for the Owls this year are Sophomore Linden Holder and Freshman Jordan Wright. Holder, who leads the team in minutes played, is averaging 14.9 points per game, shooting 44% from the field, and averaging 6.2 assists per game. Wright, who has been a two-time MCCAA East Conference Player of the Week this year, is leading the team in scoring with 16.4 points per game, shooting 63.2% from the field, and averaging 7.9 rebounds per game.
The Owls will look to continue their quality play from the non-conference schedule into the home stretch of the season, and it all begins Saturday with tipoff at 3pm.
