Half-court heave by Holder lifts Owls over Bears
Owls erase 12 point halftime deficit
Auburn Hills, MI- There isn't a more dramatic way to end a game than how Sophomore Linden Holder ended things last night for the Owls. With 3 seconds left on the clock, the Mott Community College Bears took the lead on a mid-range jumper to go up by 2. With things looking bleak for the Owls, Holder received the inbound pass and shot the game winning 3 pointer from just behind the half court line to lead the Owls to a 79-78 win over the Bears. With the win, the Owls improved to 16-4 on the year and 5-1 in the conference.
The Owls didn't get off to a great start in this one as they trailed by 12 going into halftime, but put up 51 points in the second half to help position themselves for a chance to win.
Not only did Holder secure the win for the Owls, he also contributed with 19 points on the night to go along with 10 assists. Freshman Jordan Wright was also a big factor in the comeback win as he went off for 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 steals.
The Owls will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at 3pm when they take a trip down to Detroit to face off against Wayne County Community College.
