Oakland Community College names Tony Baracco as Men's and Women's Cross-Country Head Coach
Auburn Hills, MI- Oakland Community College Athletics has officially named Tony Baracco as the new Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Cross-Country programs at OCC.
Baracco, who previously coached at OCC from 2007-2012, had much success during his tenure. In Baracco's 6 seasons, he had 40 All Conference/All Region runners and 25 All-Americans. His teams were Conference runner ups 7 times and Region runner ups 6 times, and was named the Conference Coach of the Year in 2012.
Most recently, Baracco has been coaching at Farmington High School with the Track and Cross-Country teams in various roles since 2020, eventually becoming the Girls Head Coach for Cross Country, and helping them reach their first State Championship meet in 20 years. The girl's team would go on to qualify for the State meet 3 out of the next 4 years.
Aside from OCC, Baracco has also made several other stops in his coaching career at numerous levels of college athletics, including at Lawrence Tech University, Mt. Hood Community College, and Warner Pacific College.
Baracco earned a Bachelor of Arts in History as well as minoring in Philosophy from the University of New Mexico in 1993, and would go onto receive his Master of Arts in History at Fort Hays State University in 1996, and also obtained a Master of Arts in Social Science from the Eastern Michigan University in 2012.
