Bio
Tony Baracco returned to the helm of the Oakland Community College Cross Country program on April 9th, 2025 after coaching the team from 2007-2012.
From 2007 to 2012, Baracco coached 25 All-Americans, 40 All Conference/All Region runners, and 62 Academic All-Americans. The teams placed second six times in the Region, Conference Runner Up seven times, and Top-25 at the Division I National Championships in eight times.
Baracco earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of New Mexico where he also ran Cross Country and Track, as well as a Master’s Degree in History while coaching Cross Country and Track at Fort Hays State University. In total, Baracco has thirty-one years of coaching experience, ranging from middle school to college, and has produced 28 All-Americans in Cross Country and Track during his coaching tenure, that also included stops at Warner Pacific College and Mt. Hood Community College.
Baracco is currently the Social Science Department Chair at the Orchard Ridge campus for Oakland Community College, and is very active in Global Education with Virtual Exchanges with schools in China, the Philippines, Algeria, Germany, and Ukraine.
