Liedel leads the way with 36 as Owls cruise past Bears
Win snaps 2 game skid
Auburn Hills, MI- The Oakland Community College women's basketball team put on a show last night as they hit the century mark for the sixth time this year, on route to a 117-74 win over Mott Community College. The Owls have improved their record to 8-11 on the year, and currently sit in 5th place in the conference standings.
The women had a fairly competitive first quarter of play as they led by 5 after 1, but then erupted for 35 points in the second, which got them out to a cozy 54-30 lead at half. The Owls double downed in the third quarter with another 35 point outburst and eventually cruised their way to a win.
Sophomore Lizzy Liedel led all scorers with 36 points and tacked on an additional 9 rebounds and 4 assists to cap off her night. Sophomore Kursten Von Hoffman found her way into double figures as she produced 14 points and 3 steals, while Maddie Spanicciati contributed with a double-double, scoring 15 points and recording 12 rebounds and 4 steals along the way.
The Owls will be back in action on Saturday as they visit Wayne County Community College for a 1pm tip off.
