Flint, MI- The Oakland Community College women's basketball team had reason to celebrate this past Saturday as they took on Mott Community College in an afternoon tilt. The Owls walked away with an impressive 95-68 win over the Bears and also solidified their spot in the MCCAA Great Lakes District Tournament!
This is the women's 4 straight appearance in the postseason, dating back to the 2020-2021 COVID shortened season.
The Owls got a big lift from Sophomore Lizzy Liedel who dropped 36 points in the win along with 12 rebounds and 4 steals. Both Sophomores Natalee Kirk and Abbi Dykstra included 12 points of their own in the winning effort over the Bears.
The women have officially locked up the 5th seed in the B District for the Great lakes Tournament, and will be on the road against the #2 seed who is still to be determined. The Owls will host the Wayne County Wildcats tomorrow to wrap up the regular season. Tip-off is at 5:30pm
