Owls set for Opening Round tilt against Schoolcraft
Auburn Hills, MI- Oakland Community College women's basketball returns to the postseason this year as they'll be on the road taking on the Ocelots of Schoolcraft College to start the NJCAA Great Lakes District B Championship on Tuesday, March 4th at 7pm.
With a record of 12-15 overall and a 6-8 record in conference, the Owls finished 5th in the MCCAA East, good enough for the last seed in the playoffs. This is similar to last year's performance for the Owls where they finished 11-14 overall and 4-7 in conference play, which also earned them a 5th place finish in the East standings.
The women will have an uphill battle for themselves come Tuesday against Schoolcraft. They are winless against the Ocelots this year, who finished 2nd in the East standings, and are currently ranked No. 18 in the country for NJCAA DII Women's Basketball rankings. The Owls will embrace the underdog role in hopes off knocking off Schoolcraft on Tuesday, where the winner will move onto go up against the #3 seed Hocking on Friday, March 7th at Mott Community College.
